Bleu N°2 is an original abstract painting in an elongated format, where white and turquoise filaments and flashes of gold are flung across absolute black. The cloud is dense, and light seems to break through the paint. The 15 × 30 inch format works well above a headboard, a console or a sideboard, or in a hallway. The gloss varnish gives depth to the black and makes the gold stand out. Mounted on a 1½″ gallery-depth stretcher with painted edges, the canvas hangs without a frame. A unique piece by Charles Drapeau, abstract artist based in Montréal, signed and dated on the back, with a certificate of authenticity.
